Southeast Missouri State softball team picked up its fourth straight OVC victory Sunday, completing a three-game sweep of Tennessee State with a 3-0 victory at home.

Southeast (9-21, 4-1 OVC) scored three runs in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Lyndsey Webb and a two-run single by Suzi Lair. Kelly Birk (4-7) pitched the shutout, allowing five hits, no walks and striking out two.

Jamie Birk went 2-for-2 as Southeast had six hits overall.

Alana Thomas (3-9) pitched two innings and suffered the loss for TSU (11-23, 1-5).

Tara Boldt scored a 9.825 in the balance beam to tie for eighth place, representing the Southeast gymnasts' highest finish Saturday at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships.

Boldt tied with teammate Ashley Godwin in both the floor exercise (9.675, 28th ) and vault at (9.600, 34th), and she placed 35th in the parallel bars (9.750).

Godwin also finished 28th in the parallel bars (9.800) and 42nd in the balance beam (8.400) to finish 21st in the all-around.

The Otahkians Alexis Traylor placed 20th in the floor exercise (9.725).

Utah won the team championship, edging out Florida.
