CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Raymond Eugene Gilmer Sr., 66, died Friday, April 9, 2004, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

Gilmer was born May 29, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, son of William Oscar and Carrie Kerns Gilmer. He and Linda Zeigler were married July 1, 1983.

He was retired as a self-employed lawn service owner. Gilmer was a member of the General Baptist Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dennis and William Gilmer, both of Lincoln, Ill., and Raymond Gilmer Jr. of Tennessee; two daughters, Della Gilmer of Lincoln and Ruth Ann Gilmer; and a sister, Lillian Lamb of Macon, Ga.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee, followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Union Park Cemetery at Chaffee, with the Rev. Terry Eades officiating.
