Needing the numbers

I APPRECIATE your coverage of the area high school track and field meets. However, all real track fans are always interested in stats for comparison purposes. Can you please include times, heights, and distances when listing track and field accomplishments?

(Times and distances usually are listed in the Scoreboard results rather than within the story.)

Thoughts on swimming

IN THE area events on April 3, it said the City of Roses Invitational was at Notre Dame. I'm guessing that meant Notre Dame was hosting it. Cape Central is actually hosting it. I also think you need to make the swimming things bigger. There are 50 girls on this team, plus their parents, who would really like the swimming stuff be a little bigger. And next time when Cape wins, please put them on the front page of the Sports section, not Notre Dame.

Where's the coverage?

I AM very curious as to why there has not been more coverage on Eric Heins, who won the St. Louis Marathon this past Sunday. We have articles on soccer, baseball, the Easter bunny queen, etc. I guess you have to be a runner to understand that this guy ran 26.2 miles in 2 hours and 25 minutes. That is Olympic material. The Post-Dispatch had bigger coverage of him and he is from Cape Girardeau. What is up with that?

(An article on Heins and his victory appeared on Page 1B of Wednesday's edition.)

Where's the equality?

ON THE actual day of the NCAA women's basketball championship game, there was not a bit of coverage -- only a TV listing. Contrasting this, the men's game had a lengthy article and picture on game day. Fair play for both sides? On the day of the women's game, there was a big article on John Daly's struggles. I think the national championship deserved a little coverage.
