PERRYVILLE, Mo. --- Perry County officials begin process of buying out flood properties near Mississippi River, a result of last summer's flooding; Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved $304,108 through its hazard mitigation grant program.

Space shuttle Endeavour, with Cape Girardeau County native Linda Godwin aboard, ends its 11-day radar-mapping mission with detour to California landing, after clouds foil attempts to return home to Florida.

25 years ago: April 20, 1979

Six members of Laborers Local 282 in Cape Girardeau have been arrested on federal complaints charging them with perjury during testimony they gave in U.S. District Court three years ago concerning union meeting which prosecution contended wasn't held.

Waters in Dutchtown area, one of hardest hit by this spring's flood, are slowly receding; Highway 74 leading into Dutchtown has been reopened to traffic; Highway 25, however, remains under four feet of water in some spots.

50 years ago: April 20, 1954

The Missourian newspaper announces that, in commemoration of its golden anniversary, it will bring nationally known Shrine Circus to Houck Stadium June 7; circus is under direction of Thomas N. Packs of St. Louis.

Automobile, parked on Mississippi River revetment at foot of Themis Street, rolled down bank, floated out into river channel and sank at about 6:30 yesterday evening; 1948 Studebaker club coup was owned by Arnold Craft of Cape Girardeau.

75 years ago: April 20, 1929

S.B. Hunter of Cape Girardeau is manager of new Southeast Missouri Agricultural Credit Corporation which, if necessary, will lend total of $1 million to Southeast Missouri farmers to make this year's crops.

If early vote is indication, daylight-saving time for Cape Gir-ardeau is overwhelmingly favored; The Missourian is conducting straw poll to determine sentiment of Girardeans regarding modern daylight conservation measure.
