Donald Lee Calhoun Sr., 67, of Scott City died Saturday, May 1, 2004, at the Fountainbleau Lodge at Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 10, 1936, at Scott City, son of Charles and Ethel Jones Calhoun. He and Betty Berghoff were married Oct. 4, 1996, at Benton, Mo.

Calhoun was a retired truck driver for West Lake Quarry and since 1997 owned and operated Sands Pancake House with his wife. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, J.D. Calhoun of Las Vegas, Nev., Darrin Berghoff of Jackson, Donnie and Larry Calhoun, both of Bell City, Mo.; two daughters, Teresa Keller and Taryn Berghoff, both of Scott City; a brother, James Calhoun of Scott City; a sister, Marie Hilderbrand of Springfield, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Scott City.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Joe Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery at Scott City.
