Charles L. Anderson, 73, of Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Delmar Gardens at Chesterfield.

He was born June 17, 1930, at Sikeston, Mo., son of Charlie and Lela Husk Anderson. He and Gae Hannah were married Oct. 15, 1974, at Granite City, Ill. She died July 17, 2002.

Anderson was an auto body repairman at Ron Snelson Auto Body at Granite City until he retired in 1993. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had lived in Cape Girardeau until 1950, then he moved to Ferndale, Mich., then to Granite City in 1955, then back to Cape Girardeau in 1993, and later to Chesterfield. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at Cape Girardeau and of Masonic Lodge 887 in Granite City.

Survivors include two sons, David Anderson of Chesterfield and Earl Anderson of Granite City; a brother, Howard Anderson of Florida; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Bill L. Burke officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
