ELCO, Ill. — Retired Staff Sgt. Charles Roy RedCloud, 64, of Elco died Monday, May 19, 2008, at his home.

He was born April 6, 1944, in Ullin, Ill., to Everett and Alice Jenkins RedCloud. He and Patricia Robinson were married Aug. 13, 1963. She preceded him in death Jan. 3, 2002. He married Venita Rose Mayberry May 31, 2002.

RedCloud served his country honorably 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a staff sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Rose of Elco; special nephews, Michael (Beth) RedCloud and their children and grandchildren, James L. (Sharon) RedCloud Jr. and their children and grandchildren; special nieces, Sheila (Keith) Clark and their children and grandchildren, Tina (Rick) Bracken and their children and grandchild; two sisters, May Ellen Robinson and Helen Severs of Ullin; a brother, Robert RedCloud of Ozark, Ala.; mother-in-law, Lucille Mayberry of Tamms, Ill.; other nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; brothers, James L. RedCloud, Everett RedCloud Jr., Carl RedCloud, and three infant brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clint Nale officiating. Interment will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Wetaug, Ill. Full military rites will be conducted by a ritual team comprised of area veterans groups sponsored by Pulaski County VFW Post 8891.
