Police say Adam Carpenter shot Tasanna Pickens on Monday afternoon. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Tuesday that Carpenter died late Monday night. Both were 21.

Police say they found both people on the front porch of a home, bleeding from their heads. Witnesses heard an argument on the porch prior to the shooting.

Relatives say the two had two children together.

The killing added to what has been a violent early part of 2008 in St. Louis.
