Work to begin on Butler County intersection

Several improvements will be underway at the Highway 67/160/158 intersection in Butler County during the next week. MoDOT crews were in the area Wednesday installing additional rumblestripes along the centerline to alert drivers of the edge of the lane and to improve visibility. By the end of the week, MoDOT expects to have a lower speed limit and additional signs near the intersection as well.

North and south of the intersection, the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph and larger "Intersection Warning Signs" with 45 mph speed advisory plates will be installed. Temporary radar detector trailers will be placed in the area to alert traffic of its traveling speed. Permanent signs with this radar function are ordered and will be installed as soon as delivered.
