Baseball

Coach pitch tournament: A tournament for baseball teams with 8-year-old players is scheduled for July 23-25 in Cape Girardeau. Coaches will pitch in the tournament. Registration deadline is July 18. Info: Robin McKinley, 332-8927.

Football

Scott City summer camps: Scott City will offer a team camp for Scott City athletes entering grades 9-12 who intend to play football. Sessions are Monday through July 23 at Scott City High School. Sessions are 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will focus on team aspects. There is no cost. Info: coach Terry Flanigan, 264-2138.

Perryville summer camps: Perryville will offer camps for three different age divisions. A camp for athletes entering grades 9-12 will take place Monday through July 23 and July 26-27 (5-6:30 p.m.); a camp for athletes entering grades 7-8 will take place July 28-29 (5-6:30 p.m.); and a camp for athletes entering grade 6 will take place July 30 (5-6:30 p.m.). There is no cost.

Golf

Tribal Council scramble: Jackson High School's booster club, the Tribal Council, presents its 12th annual Four-Man Scramble Golf Tournament on July 30 at Bent Creek. Lunch precedes a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Entry fee is $75 per person. Info: 243-5168 or 334-2463.

Running

Cross country camp: Jackson High School cross country camp will be Monday through July 23 at Jackson City Park. Sessions will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. each night. Runners will meet at the pavilion by the tennis courts. Info: Andrea Talley, 243-0398, or Jackson High School, 243-9513.

Jackson Homecomer: The seventh annual Jackson Parks and Recreation Department's Jackson Homecomer 5-kilometer race is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 17. A one-mile youth run kicks off the event at 6:30 p.m. Races will begin at the American Legion baseball field. Entry fee is $8 by Aug. 13, $10 on race day and a family discount is available. Soccer

CAYSA registration: The Cape Area Youth Soccer Association will conduct registration noon-5 p.m. July 18 and July 25 at Westfield Shoppingtown West Park. Forms available at Howard's Sporting Goods and Nearly Perfect Shoes. Teams will be formed and parents notified the week of Aug. 19. Softball

Coed tournament: A one-day, coed slow-pitch softball tournament is scheduled for July 24 on the men's field at Jackson City Park. The entry deadline is July 22 and the entry fee is $125 per team.
