Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church installs pastor

The Rev. Kevin Olson will be installed Sunday as the new pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, Mo. The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m., and a reception will follow. Olson is a recent graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He and his wife, Paulette, have four children. The Olsons originally are from Victoria, Minn.

Region's priests get new assignments

Bishop John J. Leibrecht of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Catholic Diocese recently announced new assignments for priests in the region. The changes take effect Aug. 18.

The Rev. Scott Sunnenberg, associate pastor at St. Mary's Cathedral parish in Cape Girardeau, will become pastor at Sacred Heart parish in Caruthersville, Mo. The current pastor at the church is retiring.

The Rev. Patrick Nwokoye, associate pastor at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Springfield Mo., will become associate pastor at St. Mary's Cathedral. He has previously served at the church.

Trinity Lutheran Church to hold VBS

Trinity Lutheran Church of Egypt Mills will hold vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 25 to 29. A light dinner will be served before activities Monday through Thursday, beginning at 5:15 p.m.

Church to hold children's soccer camps

Lynwood Baptist Church will hold soccer camps for children Aug. 2 to 6 at the church. The camps are taught by college students serving as missionaries through the Missouri Baptist Convention. Camps will be held for grades 1 to 3 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and for grades 4 to 6 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. For information, contact Sherry Ford, camp director, at 204-7775.
