WYATT, Mo. — A trio of shootings in Mississippi County last week remain under investigation, and no charges have yet been filed, the Sikeston Standard-Democrat reported. Darren Cann, Mississippi County's prosecuting attorney, said this morning the investigation is continuing, and "we hope to have it wrapped up soon." No representatives from the sheriff's department were available for comment. There were two shootings last week — on Monday and Thursday — at the same residence, 206 Walnut St. in Wyatt. Early Thursday morning, 22-year-old Shondra Lindell died of a gunshot wound to the head. A gun was later found in a field across the street from the home. Also on Thursday, there was a third shooting in the same neighborhood, where a 67-year-old woman was shot in her living room around 7 p.m. She was transported via air helicopter for injury treatment.
