Simmons, Matthews win Gateway Junior event
Tim Simmons shot an even-par 70 to win the boys 16 to 19 Tour division at the Southeast Missouri PGA Gateway Junior Series event Monday at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
Emily Matthews placed first in the girls 16 to 19 Tour division with a 78.

Driskells, Obergoenner shoot low tourney round
The team of Drew Church, Mike Church, Bobby Brune and Kent Phillips won the morning flight of the Central Booster golf tournament at the Dalhousie Golf Club with a 57, while the foursome of Dan Driskell, Jeri Driskell, Blake Driskell and Todd Obergoenner won the afternoon competition with a 55.
The morning closest-to-the-pin winners were Kent Phillips (No. 5) and Jeff Brune (No. 13). Afternoon winners were Jack Connell Jr. (No. 5) and Kevin Ford (No. 13).
