Margaret Marie Clemons Creighton, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born April 16, 1923, in Madison, Ill., daughter of John E. and Isabelle Schmidt Clemons. She and Henry Creighton were married March 31, 1946, in Madison, Ill. They moved to Cape Girardeau in 1948 and became lifelong residents. He died March 17, 2006...

Margaret Marie Clemons Creighton, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1923, in Madison, Ill., daughter of John E. and Isabelle Schmidt Clemons. She and Henry Creighton were married March 31, 1946, in Madison, Ill. They moved to Cape Girardeau in 1948 and became lifelong residents. He died March 17, 2006.

Marie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of its Evening Circle of Grace.

She was known by many as the lady who worked at the local bakery. She loved her Cardinals, her family and her friends!

She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Joe) Hornback of Jackson, Janet (Louie) Ervin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Donna (Jack) Mullins of Fredericksburg, Va., Denise (Dennis) Mason of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Scott Moon officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

The family has requested memorials be made to Rehabilitation Services For The Blind, P.O. Box 2320, Jefferson City, Mo., 65102.
