Jerry Jean Rea, 82, of Palatine, Ill., died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at her home. She was born Oct. 19, 1925, in St. Louis, daughter of Hunter Jean Burns. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Charles H. and Effie Seabaugh of Jackson. Formerly of Jackson and Cape Girardeau, she had lived in Palatine more than 55 years. She was employed more than 25 years with Palatine Park District. Her hobbies included gardening, traveling and bridge. She had a great love for family and friends...

Jerry Jean Rea, 82, of Palatine, Ill., died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at her home.

She was born Oct. 19, 1925, in St. Louis, daughter of Hunter Jean Burns. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Charles H. and Effie Seabaugh of Jackson.

Formerly of Jackson and Cape Girardeau, she had lived in Palatine more than 55 years. She was employed more than 25 years with Palatine Park District. Her hobbies included gardening, traveling and bridge. She had a great love for family and friends.

She was a loving mother of Susan (Steve) Zollner, Sally (the late Joseph) Monday, Holly (Kyle Rennels) Rea; loving grandmother of Patrick Zollner, Lindsay, Stephanie and Jenna Monday, Connor, Ian and Hunter Rennels.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. July 12 at First United Methodist Church in Palatine. Interment will be private.

Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Palatine is in charge of arrangements.
