Kathleen Brandtner

Kathleen Brandtner, 86, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.

She was born Dec. 26, 1921, at Maple Lake, Minn., daughter of Saul and Margaret Rogers Gagnon.

She was an active member of St. Mary's Church and was faithful to attend daily Mass. She enjoyed traveling, golfing and playing cards, especially bridge.

Her family includes her husband, Claude Brandtner of Oskaloosa; two daughters and their husbands, Susan and George Hodoly of Omaha, Neb., Claudia and Steve Martin of Oskaloosa; two sons and their wives, Tom and Jackie Brandtner of Cape Girardeau, Alex and Kathy Brandtner of Bettendorf, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. Thomas Spiegel officiating. Burial is today in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements.
