A boil water has been issued for Annwood Estates Subdivision in Jackson, according to a news release from the city's Public Works Department. Below is a copy of the release:

"The City of Jackson has issued a precautionary boil water order for all of the properties in Annwood Estates Subdivision in eastern Jackson due to a water main break near the intersection of East Jackson Boulevard and Brittany Drive. Repairs to the main line which broke at 11:00 P.M. last night have recently been completed and water service will soon be returning to the homes in this subdivision soon.

"In accordance with State regulations, the City is issuing a precautionary boil water order for the homes in Annwood Estates, which includes Brittany Drive, Leming Lane, Dana Drive and Nicole Lane, beginning immediately. This precautionary boil water order will expire at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 10th, unless otherwise notified. The City is also hand-delivering notices to the affected residents to alert them of the boil water order.

"Residents affected by the boil water order need to take the following precautions:

"1.Boil water vigorously for three minutes prior to use. Use only boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, diluting fruit juices, and all other food preparations or consumption.

"2.Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic ice maker. Remake ice cubes with water that has been boiled.

"4.Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled. Supervision of children is necessary while bathing or using backyard pools so water is not ingested. Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.

"NOTE: Let water cool sufficiently before drinking.

"This boil water order will expire in 48 hours unless notified otherwise.

"Water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled at a rolling boil for three (3) minutes prior to consumption.
