Mo.-based air medical service accredited

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services has accredited West Plains, Mo.,-based Air Evac Lifeteam. As part of the accreditation process, Air Evac Lifeteam — which has a base in Sikeston, Mo. — took part in largest-scale inspection and accreditation process.

Chamber to hold business roundtable

There will be a small business roundtable at noon July 22 at the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce, 1267 N. Mount Auburn Road, about how to control health-care costs. Jason Bandermann, business referral services manager at Saint Francis Medical Center, and Rhett Hendrickson, healthworks coordinator at Southeast Missouri Hospital, will lead the discussion. Area hospital garners three publishing awards

Southeast Missouri Hospital's quarterly magazine "Vim and Vigor" received three awards during the recent McEdit Conference in Phoenix. A feature article on the hospital's program to make children aware of health risks associated with smoking won best feature story, long version. A feature about a program to give new mothers and babies bonding time while mom gets back into shape took honorable mention for best feature story, short version. A question-and-answer article with physicians received honorable mention for best department in a magazine.
