Jared Ritter is running today -- not away from anything, but toward the goal of raising more money for the "1,000 Wells" campaign supported by "Blood: Water Mission," a charity that uses donated funds for water wells in African countries.

If all goes according to plan, Jared will run 20 miles from Cape Girardeau to Jackson and back.

Jared already has exceeded his original $1,000 goal for the water wells in Africa, even before he runs a single mile.

The run to raise money for wells makes perfect sense to Jared: "After people run, they're thirsty. It sort of puts us in their shoes."

Jared is doing a great thing. We expect to hear about more of his achievement in the future.
