SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Robert F. Iver, 82, of Sedgewickville died Friday, July 25, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 23, 1925, in St. Louis, son of Charles J. and Herminia Moore Silver. He married Dorothy M. Lechner. She died Dec. 7, 1962. He then married Mary M. Berryhill on Dec. 24, 1976, in St. Louis.

Iver served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as a rural mail carrier out of the Patton, Mo., post office. He attended Patton Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Sedgewickville; two sons, Michael Iver and Douglas Iver, both of St. Charles, Mo.; two daughters, Janice Brauch of Hixson, Tenn., Cathy Altman of St. Louis; two sisters, Geraldine Johnson of Bowling Green, Ky., Charlotte Benning of Delwood, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.

The funeral and military honors will be at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Chapel in St. Louis. The Missouri Military Honors Chaplain will officiate.
