J.P. Daniels, 82, of Oak Ridge died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Graham, Texas, son of Jefus and Ruthy Daniels. He and Leavada Volz were married Dec. 25, 1948, at Oran, Mo. Daniels retired from Lenco in 1973. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church...

J.P. Daniels, 82, of Oak Ridge died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Graham, Texas, son of Jefus and Ruthy Daniels. He and Leavada Volz were married Dec. 25, 1948, at Oran, Mo.

Daniels retired from Lenco in 1973. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

He served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elaine Hale of Jackson, Vera Sue Militti of Evans, Ga.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time on Sunday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jon Sedgwick and Jeffrey Militti officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson, with military honors.
