The Southeast Missourian has launched a new Web page to put all the information we have about Tuesday's primary elections in one place.

The page includes links to current and past stories about candidates and the issues. The new Web offering also includes responses to questionnaires specific to each county and election contest in our coverage area of Cape Girardeau, Scott, Perry and Bollinger counties and the three Republican candidates vying for the 158th District state representative.

Questionnaires for Cape Girardeau County candidates are available now, while those for candidates in Scott, Perry and Bollinger counties will be added today and over the weekend.

The Web page can be found at www.semissourian.com/election.

A new feature we are offering is a digital version of door-to-door campaigning -- videos, each about two minutes long, from candidates for contested offices in Cape Girardeau County. In the videos, Republican primary candidates for the 158th District Missouri House seat and contenders in both the Democratic and Republican contests for District 1 county commissioner tell voters a little about themselves and their stands on issues they believe will grab voters' attention.

Along with establishing the Web page for election coverage, the Southeast Missourian will publish the candidate questionnaires in Sunday's newspaper. The questionnaires were sent to every candidate in the contested primaries in our area.

The Tuesday primary will decide political party nominees for statewide offices, legislative seats and county government positions. Voters in the Delta School District also have a ballot measure asking for a $2.6 million bond issue to finance the construction of a new elementary school.
