SIKESTON, Mo. — Helen I. Hooe, 90, of Sikeston died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Kennett, Mo., daughter of George A. and Martha Isabelle McGuffy Long. She and Herman Hooe were married June 24, 1939. He died Dec. 9, 1979...

SIKESTON, Mo. — Helen I. Hooe, 90, of Sikeston died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Kennett, Mo., daughter of George A. and Martha Isabelle McGuffy Long. She and Herman Hooe were married June 24, 1939. He died Dec. 9, 1979.

Hooe was a member of Hooe Baptist Church. She worked at Oran International Hat Factory before retiring.

Survivors include three sons, James Reed of Sikeston, Scotty Hooe of Marble Hill, Mo., Randy Hooe of Blodgett, Mo.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held, with the Rev. David Jackson officiating.

Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
