SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. — Wayne M. Zahner, 61, of Sedgewickville died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Missouri Baptist Hospital.

He was born Feb. 10, 1947, at Perryville, Mo., son of Hansel J. and Rita A. Taylor Zahner. He and Shirley Layton were married Dec. 27, 1969.

Zahner retired from Boeing International as a quality auditor specialist. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a founder and member of the classic rock bands Vintage and Saratoga Trunque.

Survivors include his wife of Perryville; a son, Howard Zahner of St. Louis; and a daughter, Melissa Zahner of St. Louis.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel. A Catholic wake is at 7 p.m. today, and the rosary will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Burial is in Mount Hope Cemetery, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating.
