Darrell Keith Lunsford, 53, of Oriole, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at his home. He was born April 26, 1955, in Lexington, Ky., son of Charles O. and Carol E. Lunsford. He and Rebecca Sue Dallas were married in 1998. She passed away June 15, 2008...

Darrell Keith Lunsford, 53, of Oriole, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at his home.

He was born April 26, 1955, in Lexington, Ky., son of Charles O. and Carol E. Lunsford. He and Rebecca Sue Dallas were married in 1998. She passed away June 15, 2008.

Darrell attended the Jehovah's Witnesses Church in Cape Girardeau. He worked as a deckhand on a riverboat for several years. In 1985 he moved to California and after an injury and becoming disabled he returned to the Cape Girardeau area in 1988. Darrell was a musician and loved to play his guitar and sing for family and friends.

Loving survivors include his mother of Jackson; his children, Jarod Heath of Tampa, Fla., Miranda Miller of Sparta, N.C., Lois Evans of Bourbonnais, Ill., Rebecca Sanders of Sparta, Dawn Lunsford of Bradley, Ill., Darla Lunsford and Cody Lunsford of Jackson; a brother, Gary Lunsford of Jackson; and three sisters, Kathryn Pasley of Jackson, Lana Ussery of Wittenberg, Mo., Patricia Koch of Oak Ridge; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, April; two sisters, Barbara and Lois; and a brother, Charles.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. A celebration of life service will be held at 7.

Memorial contributions may be made for Darrell's two minor children, Darla and Cody, c/o Lois Evans, 1209 Game Trail North, Bourbonnais, Ill., 60914.
