Harry Casey

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Harry E. "Gene" Casey, 74, of Jonesboro died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

He was born Aug.2, 1930, in Tamms, Ill., son of Tom and Eula Van Zandt Casey. He and Mary Ruth Choate were married March 6, 1954, at Jonesboro.

Casey was a retired maintenance supervisor in the Jonesboro School District, where he worked for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Cross of Jonesboro; a brother, Bill Casey of Holland, Mich.; two grandsons; a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, Ill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Joe Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
