Two local physicians have been credentialed by M.D. Anderson Physicians Network through Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau to provide patients access to evidence-based cancer treatment guidelines. Medical oncologists Mark A. Meadors and Carlos Robles join 18 physicians already credentialed at Saint Francis Medical Center.

KFVS12 has received a 2008 Emmy Award for The Breakfast Show. The Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented the CBS network affiliate based out of Cape Girardeau with the honor at a special Emmy Award ceremony held recently in St. Louis. The Breakfast Show Emmy was awarded in the morning/daytime newscast category. Accepting the award was long-time Breakfast Show anchor Jim Burns and Heartland News executive producer Duncan Phenix. KFVS12 also received 2008 Emmy nominations in the specialty news series and promotion categories.
