The Notre Dame volleyball team might have stamped itself as a district favorite despite not being a top seed.

On Monday, Dexter was awarded the No. 1 seed for next week's Class 3 District 1 tournament at Notre Dame, with the Bulldogs seeded second.

Later in the day, Notre Dame rolled past visiting Dexter 25-13, 25-16 as the Bulldogs improved to 23-5-2.

"It was a pretty sweet win," Notre Dame coach Tara Stroup said.

Meghan Dohogne and Bridgette Nenninger both had seven kills for the Bulldogs. Dohogne recorded six blocks.

Allyson Bradshaw had 11 digs and four kills for Notre Dame, while Shannon Brennan dished out 15 assists.

JV — Notre Dame won.

Central 17 25 28

Poplar Bluff 25 20 26

The Tigers rallied from a game down to knock off the host Mules.

Wendi Zickfield finished with 17 kills and 20 digs to pace Central (11-15-2).

Rita Walter chipped in nine kills and four digs, while Taylor Kern had eight digs and five kills.

Angela Morton put up 17 assists for the victors.

JV — Poplar Bluff won in two games.

Leopold 25 25

St. Vincent 23 23

Casey Bucher smacked 11 kills and added two blocks and four digs to pace the Wildcats.

Danielle Beel put down nine kills to go with three blocks, while Kirsten Thele had eight kills.

Jessica Bueter chipped in 10 assists to help Leopold (21-2-1) to victory.

JV — Leopold won in three games.

Jackson 25 30 25

Perryville 22 32 13

The second game took over 40 minutes, but losing it didn't bother the Indians.

Jackson shook off the marathon game, and pounded out a victory in the decisive third game to earn the win.

Jill Rushin led the Indians with 14 kills and two blocks, while Taylor Glueck had eight kills, three aces and 22 digs.

Rachel Meyr finished with three kills, 29 assists and eight digs for Jackson (15-14).

JV — Jackson won in three games.

Meadow Heights 25 25

Charleston 11 9

Courtney Brune served up seven aces to go with seven kills for the Panthers.

Heather Dietiker, Chelsey Kight and Jill Mills all finished with three kills, and Ashley Doublin had 19 assists for Meadow Heights (16-10-1).

JV — Meadow Heights won in two games.

BOYS SOCCER

Collinsville Christian 4, Eagle Ridge 2

Josh Carbaugh and Ron Oh scored, but it wasn't enough as the Eagles fell to 8-3-1.

Mary-Kate Galemmo and Jack Lee earned assists for Eagle Ridge.
