Question 1: What is the most important issue facing the Cape Girardeau County Commission?

Answer: Restoring residents' trust in the county commission and creating an aggressive industrial recruitment program to ensure good jobs for the county's residents for the future.

Question 2: What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?

Answer: Farmer, truck driver, construction worker, equipment operator and firefighter. My 31 years of volunteerism in Cape Girardeau County will give me the skills to deal with most issues facing the District 1 commissioner.

Question 3: Why are you better qualified than your opponent?

Answer: All the reasons listed above are qualifications that give me a wide range of experience to deal with the everyday workings of the county commission. The needs of all residents of Cape Girardeau County are equally important, but the needs of the rural residents can only be understood by a commissioner who lives in rural Cape Girardeau County. My full-time commitment to improving road conditions, ambulance response time, industrial development and my availability to the public will create an atmosphere of trust for the position of county commissioner.

Question 4: What specifically will you do to ensure open and transparent government?

Answer: Giving accessibility to the public may be accomplished by evening meetings with residents' input, webcasting and following all rules pertaining to holding public meetings.

Question 5: In what ways will you support road-paving projects for the county?

Answer: Use dated easements for the paving program to maintain fair and equal selection of roads. I will be meeting with property owners to help work out problems with the easement process. I will look into all alternative financing options for the paving program.
