The Southeast Missouri State University Department of Communication and MBA program are co-sponsoring this year's Weiss Lecture. The lecture will take place in Rose Theatre at 7 p.m. Nov. 18. The speaker, Michael Long, is a high-stakes communication professional who has written for top government officials, including four presidential candidates, CEOs of major national and international companies and entertainment celebrities like Ben Stein and Jerry Seinfeld.

Mr. Long will give a presentation on effective communication strategies as well as share stories from business, politics and entertainment. He'll also give an insider's analysis of the presidential election highlighting what the candidates did right and wrong regarding their communication strategies. Mr. Long is also a former stand-up comedian. You are sure to laugh while you learn from one of the nation's best communicators.

Mr. Long currently serves as a director of the White House Writers Group, a high-stakes communications firm in Washington, D.C., as well as an instructor at Georgetown University.
