Mike Dumey is at it again. This time, however, it's not with a bunch of students singing songs from Broadway, big band classics or country hits. This time he's performing with Robyn Hosp. and they're singing Christmas like no one else can.

In their 11th year performing together, they're still rocking.

"It's tradition," Hosp said. "A gift."

The stage is set like a winter wonderland, Dumey said. It's completely white, with a twinkling tree, organza material draped over everything and even some silver sequins thrown in for good measure. It's taken more than two weeks to set up.

Dumey and Hosp said the show will feature great holiday classics, songs that will get the audience in the Christmas spirit. The playlist includes "Silver Bells," "White Christmas" and "I'll Be Home For Christmas."

But it's not just music; this year there's comedy, parodies and a bit of improv as well.

"People love to laugh as much as they love to be thrilled by great music," Dumey said. "We have that happening in spades."

One of the parodies is of Jerry Lee Lewis' "Great Balls of Fire," which is turned into "Great Malls on Fire," a song in which a man is talking about his wife's spending habits in the holiday season.

Although it's mainly Dumey and Hosp performing, comedy sketches will feature a few members of Dumey's previous production of "Sing, America, Sing!"

Singing waitresses/waiters will perform before show begins. The stars even have their children involved in the evening. Drew Hosp, Robyn's 15-year-old son, performs in the show; Lauren and Caitlin Dumey, Mike's 15- and 9-year-old daughters, have parts in the festivities as well.

The end of the show will involve a "tribute to the reason of the season," where gospel and Christian songs will showcase the true meaning of the holiday.

All in all, Dumey and Hosp think the musical variety show will make a fun evening out.

"Great holiday treat for the money," Dumey said. "We don't think it can be beat anywhere."

The shows are at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 5, 12 and 13 at Deerfield Lodge. The meal is catered by Tractor's. Tickets are $29.95 plus tax. Call 573-273-7775 for reservations.
