Rosalie Heizer Rosalie A. "Sally" Heizer, 78, of Prairie du Rocher, Ill., passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Ill. Sally was born April 6, 1930, in Evansville, Ill., to the late Walter P. and Louise H.S. Telthorster Heck. She and Leo J. Heizer were married Feb. 18, 1947, in Prairie du Rocher. He preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1991...

Rosalie A. "Sally" Heizer, 78, of Prairie du Rocher, Ill., passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Ill.

Sally was born April 6, 1930, in Evansville, Ill., to the late Walter P. and Louise H.S. Telthorster Heck. She and Leo J. Heizer were married Feb. 18, 1947, in Prairie du Rocher. He preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1991.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, its Altar Sodality and sang in the choir. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Prairie du Rocher. She was an avid quilter, gardener and loved to dance. She loved to listen to George Strait.

Survivors include four children, Robert "Bob" (Joan) Heizer of Bunker Hill, Ill., William "Bill" (Diane) Heizer of Belleville, Ill., John T. (Carol) Heizer of Jackson, Joan (Ron) Stork of Sparta, Ill.; three siblings, Melicent Radford of Chester, Ill., Clarence (Delores) Heck and Mary Jane (Ed) Scott of Evansville.

Also nine grandchildren, Frank (Barb) Trost, Joe Trost, Christopher (Michelle) Heizer, Angela (Eric) Stiegemeyer, Jason (Kelly) Heizer, Jeremy (Jen) Heizer, Kathryn Stork, Rebecca Stork and Sarah Heizer; five great-grandchildren, Megan and Frankie Trost, Taylor and Nicholas Heizer, and Aidan Stiegemeyer; and a special friend, Maurice Mudd of Waterloo, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Mary Frances Heizer; two brothers, Vincent Kruse and Leslie Heck; and two sisters, Lindy Schroeder and Marlene Menard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud, Ill.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, with the Rev. Daniel J. Jurek officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prairie du Rocher.

Memorials may be made for Masses, or to National Parkinson Foundation or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
