Dad is proud and doing the best he can

Dad has custody of his three children. He is working with the state to pay for day care while he works. With his divorce, he wants the children to have the best Christmas they can. The two boys are very creative and love to draw, and would like art sketch toys, drawing pads and Play-Doh. They like Fisher Price imaginative toys, colors and paints. The one year old likes learning toys, Playskool and Fisher-Price. Like the 1,200 children ages 1-12, being served locally by Toybox this year you can help make a meaningful Christmas! Please bring new toys to any of the Toybox locations, including the Southeast Missourian. Or you can make a monetary donation to Toybox, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, MO, 63702. The blessings you bestow, return to you in kind. For all of our needy Toybox families here are some popular requests: Board games, race cars, trucks, dolls, learning toys, puzzles, books, Hannah Montana, Spiderman, balls, drawing materials, Dora Explorer, Indiana Jones, High School Musical items.

Mr. I has no family in the area

Mr. I has been living independently in an apartment on his limited monthly income. He doesn't have many visitors and friends in the area. He does like to read, especially history and the Civil War books ¿ large type would be appreciated, history "coffee table" books. A few needed items would make him feel loved this Christmas ¿ some medium T-shirts, "Smuckers Crustables" peanut butter and jelly snacks, and padded house shoes size small. This would make his Christmas truly bright! You can help Mr. I and other needy elderly people in our area, by buying these needed items, including personal grooming and cleaning supplies, grocery gift cards and delivering to The Southeast Missourian. Or make a monetary donation to Christmas for the Elderly, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, MO 63702. All elderly served are living independently on limited incomes with few, if any family members. They would appreciate your sharing spirit.
