Harold Mattingly

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Harold J. Mattingly, 80, of Perryville died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born June 17, 1924, in Perry County, son of George F. and Stella E. Gibbar Mattingly. He and Alma M. Berkbuegler were married April 17, 1948, in Perryville.

Mattingly was a farmer. He was president of the Mattingly School Board in the early 1960s. He was a member of Christ the Savior Church at Brewer, Mo., and the Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Dolores Meyer of Perryville, Rhonda Lally of Kirkwood, Mo., Janet Huber of St. Mary, Mo., Regina Berkbigler of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., and Doris Kiefer of Perryville; a brother, Elmer Mattingly of Festus, Mo.; four sisters, Gertrude Terbrak, Agnes Bohnert, Lillian Zahner and Jean Hunt, all of Perryville; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 tonight with the Holy Name Society.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the Savior Church, with the Revs. Felipe Martinez and Alphonse Hoernig officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Perryville.
