The Leopold basketball team stayed unbeaten as it defeated Meadow Heights for a second time this season Friday, winning 73-46 at home. Dustin Thiele and Darren VanGennip netted 20 points apiece, and Larry Nussbaum tallied 16 as the Wildcats improved to 5-0. Leopold also defeated Meadow Heights in the championship game of the Woodland tournament...

The Leopold basketball team stayed unbeaten as it defeated Meadow Heights for a second time this season Friday, winning 73-46 at home.

Dustin Thiele and Darren VanGennip netted 20 points apiece, and Larry Nussbaum tallied 16 as the Wildcats improved to 5-0. Leopold also defeated Meadow Heights in the championship game of the Woodland tournament.

Derrick Wilfong led Meadow Heights with 19 points and Zac Hotop scored 15.

Oran rallied from a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit as it held visiting Scott City to a pair of free throws over the final eight minutes.

Shae Simmons scored 14 of his team-high 16 points in the first half for Scott City.

With a 27-13 lead heading into the third quarter, the Pirates held on for the victory in the second half.

Stephen Cohen scored 23 points to lead Eagle Ridge to a 32-point rout over Twin City on Friday night.

Eagle Ridge (6-3) led by five points at halftime but outscored Twin City 24-11 in the third quarter and 20-8 in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles will be back in action Monday when they host New Salem Baptist.
