Grover Lee Hogan Sr., 74, of Jackson died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at the family home. He was born March 2, 1934, at Cherryville, Mo., son of Treffie and Vivian Matthews Hogan. He and Jean Tucker were married March 22, 1953, at Hernando, Miss. Hogan served in the U.S. Army following the Korean War. He was a member of the Jackson Assembly of God Church, the VFW Post in Cuba, Mo., and was retired from Combustion Engineering in St. Louis...

Grover Lee Hogan Sr., 74, of Jackson died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at the family home.

He was born March 2, 1934, at Cherryville, Mo., son of Treffie and Vivian Matthews Hogan. He and Jean Tucker were married March 22, 1953, at Hernando, Miss.

Hogan served in the U.S. Army following the Korean War. He was a member of the Jackson Assembly of God Church, the VFW Post in Cuba, Mo., and was retired from Combustion Engineering in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife of Jackson; a son, Grover "Sonny" Hogan Jr. of Perryville, Mo.; six daughters, Brenda Sandlin of Uniontown, Mo., Sandra Petzoldt of Jackson, Connie Esselman of Perryville, Bonnie Poindexter of Rural Hall, N.C., Lanitta Berkbigler and Laurie Bolen, both of Friedheim, Mo.; a brother, Earl Hogan of Warrenton, Mo.; two sisters, Carol Lewis of Warrenton, Lanna Sissom of Bellflower, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Conaway officiating.

Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery near Sedgewickville, Mo., with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
