Norman Oehlert

ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Norman G. Oehlert, 74, of Altenburg died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Hunter Acres in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born May 20, 1934, at Altenburg, son of George C. and Lena Hemmann Oehlert.

He was retired from Timber Export Lumber Co. and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Michele (Thomas) Whalen of Valley Park, Mo., Kathryn Oehlert of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three sisters, Bernice Huntsman of Arvada, Colo., Mary Ann Pledger of Cape Girardeau, Lula Mae Ziegler of Imperial, Mo.; a brother, Raymond Oehlert of Ferguson, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Margret Sticht; and a brother, Edward Oehlert.

Mr. Oehlert will rest in state from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, and from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3., at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg. He will then be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg for service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jonathan Stites will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
