The Meadow Heights girls basketball team suffered a heart-breaking loss in Tuesday's third-place game of the North County tournament.

Host North County hit a 3-point basket from about 25 feet with three seconds left to beat the Panthers 67-66.

Meadow Heights (5-3) was outscored 25-15 in the fourth quarter.

Heather Dietiker and Whitney Welker both scored 17 points for the Panthers. Hattie Cook added 14.
