Three join Southeast Missouri Hospital oncology staff
Three physicians with experience in the treatment of cancer have joined the medical staff and Hematology-Oncology Associates of Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Robert K. Oldham is director of Hematology-Oncology Associates. Oldham received his MD degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He also completed a medical oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md.
Oldham was founder and chief executive officer of Cancer Therapeutics Inc., an organization dedicated to making advanced cellular therapies more readily available to cancer patients. He has authored or edited 15 books on cancer research and treatment.
Roberto Martinez received his bachelor of general science degree and his MD degree from the University of Santa Tomas in Manila, Philippines.
He completed a residency at Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, Md. Martinez completed fellowships in hematology and oncology at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center of Boston/Tufts University program and The New York Hospital at Cornell Medical Center.
Celia L. Chan has returned to medical practice with Hematology-Oncology Associates. She completed her pre-medical and medical education at the College of Medicine in National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. She completed an internship at National Taiwan University Hospital and a residency at Veteran General Hospital, both in Taipei. Chan completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Cook County Hospital and a fellowship in Hematology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Ill. She first joined Southeast's medical staff in 1994.
Lumos earns credentials for play therapist-supervisor
Theresa L. Lumos of Cape Girardeau earned the registered play therapist-supervisor credential conferred by the Association for Play Therapy. The licensed professional counselor was awarded the distinction through earning a traditional masters or doctoral mental health degree from an institution of higher education, 150 clock hours of play therapy training, five years and 5,000 hours of post-Master's clinical experience, 500 supervised and 500 additional hours of play therapy experience and licensure or certification by Missouri's boards of practice.

Hospital names new engineering director
Jerry Bender, a health-care facilities professional with experience in property and facility management, engineering and construction, has been named new engineering and maintenance director for Southeast Missouri Hospital. Bender comes to Cape Girardeau from Booneville, Mo., where he operated Mid America Management. He succeeds Jim Kaempfer, who is retiring after 26 years as engineering and maintenance director. Bender holds a bachelor of arts degree in education and recreation from the University of Nebraska in Omaha and a master's degree of administration and management from Regency University in Virginia Beach, Va. He is a certified healthcare facility manager and a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering. Bender began his career as an electrician.
Element 74 hires project director
Brad Davis has joined Element 74 as project director. He is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the website design and software development process from start to finish. He brings more than 20 years of professional photography experience to enhance the creative aspect and design of each project. In addition, he also has experience in the marketing and public relations field. Davis' educational background includes a bachelor's degree in communications from Murray State University in Murray, Ky., and a master of arts degree in management from Webster University in St. Louis. David and his wife, Leslie, and daughter, Shannon, live in Jackson.
Koch joins Jackson's Hair Clips Salon
Hair Clips Salon in Jackson has hired Logan Koch. She is a graduate of Jackson High School and Trendsetters School of Cosmetology in Jackson. Koch is available Tuesday through Friday and by appointment on Saturday.
