Libertyfest put on hold

Last month we reported that the Cape Girardeau air show was planning to skip 2009 due to a soft economy.

Now Cape Girardeau's summer event lineup may take another blow, as Old Town Cape has suspended plans for the 2009 Libertyfest July 4 celebration, also due to the bad economy.

Jackson wedding planner appears in court

The Jackson wedding planner who was accused of using others' credit card numbers fraudulently appeared in court today.

Michael J. Erzfeld decided to waive his right to a preliminary hearing and will appear in court Jan. 26.
