Robert E. Lee Myers Jr., 67, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at his home.

He was born June 21, 1941, in St. Louis, son of Robert E. Lee and Ruth Millhouse Myers. He and Mary Ellen Ruth Banfield were married May 30, 1968, in Waukegan, Ill.

Myers was a cement finisher with Cement Masons Local 908 in Cape Girardeau. He attended Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Myers III of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Angela Myers of Jackson; two brothers, Stanley Myers of Scott City, Jim Myers of High Ridge, Mo.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
