Business owners and managers in Bollinger County will soon receive a survey from the Chamber of Commerce asking for input.

The survey, several months in the making, is meant to determine what businesses are doing right and where they are falling short. The goal is to learn where the county and cities within it need to improve the business climate.

The survey form is also on the chamber's website, www.bollingercountychamber.com, and can be downloaded and filled out or e-mailed back to the chamber.

The completed survey should be returned postmarked no later than Jan. 31.

Chamber president Donnia Mayfield asks that any business that, through oversight, did not receive a questionnaire contact her for a copy or visit the website for one. Only one survey per business is requested.

In other meeting action Thursday, the chamber membership approved sending two delegates to the Lake of the Ozarks Festival Planning Meeting Jan. 20 through Feb. 1.

Mayfield had brought up the conference at an earlier meeting, suggesting it would be valuable in planning for the next Fall Festival. Jim Sander, who also serves on the SEMO District Fair Board, recommended attending the conference.

"I think it benefits smaller events," he said. "You meet a lot more people and learn what they have to provide for you."
