The reality, they said, was that two teenagers were firing a .22-caliber rifle at a sign across the freeway. Jeffrey Hubbard, 19, of Sullivan, was charged Monday with a felony count of second-degree assault. Both he and Paul Murta, 18, of Leasburg, were charged with shooting across a highway, a misdemeanor.

The charges came after authorities investigated the case of Amy Holder, a truck driver who was struck in the head Oct. 21 while driving on Interstate 44 in Crawford County. Her injury was not life-threatening.
