Paul F. "Pappy" "Grizz" Davis, 76, of Milan, Ohio, died unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Firelands Regional Medical Center Main Campus in Sandusky, Ohio. Paul F. "Pappy" "Grizz" Davis, 76, of Milan, Ohio, died unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Firelands Regional Medical Center Main Campus in Sandusky, Ohio.

He was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Davis retired from New Departure-Hyatt, a division of General Motors, after 38 years of service.

He was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend, as well as being loved and liked by family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and cooking.

Mr. Davis was a member of UAW Local 913 and American Legion Post 83.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include his children, John D. Davis of Milan, Beckie Bates of Huron, Ohio, and Rob P. (Monica) Davis of Huron; a stepdaughter, Nancy Martin of Broken Arrow, Okla.; his mother, Lillian Griffaw Schuessler of Sandusky; a half brother, Arnold "Arnie" (Bonnie) Schuessler of Sandusky; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arnold Schuessler; first wife, Ruth Ann Miller Davis; second wife, Ruth E. Davis; and a special friend, Agnes Kilgore.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at David F. Koch Funeral Home in Sandusky. The Rev. John Mawhirter of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Milan Cemetery in Milan.
