The following Red Cross ice-storm shelters are open:

- New Madrid Community Center, 1199 Mill St, New Madrid, Mo.

- Minor Baptist Church, 416 Hwy H, Sikeston, Mo.

- Portageville First Baptist Church, 608 De Lisle, Portageville, Mo.

- Calvary Baptist Church, 201 E Lincoln, Hayti, Mo.

Southeast Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross is working with county emergency services directors to help local residents who have lost power.

These shelters include cots and blankets. A Red Cross statement asks that anyone going to a shelter bring any personal items, such as medications, snacks, flashlights and activities for children.
