Winter weather strikes

The big story today is the winter weather that's wracked Southeast Missouri and the surrounding area, dumping inches of ice in the form of sleet and freezing rain across the area.

The bad news is, more is on the way.

Local governments are closing early today, and some events tonight are canceled. Some schools are already reporting Wednesday closings to us, as well.

The inclement weather will affect trash and recycling pickup in Cape Girardeau, the city reported today in a news release.
