John L. Reynolds, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at his home. He was born May 26, 1938, in Morristown, Tenn., the son of John Cletus and Lelah Virginia Fleener Reynolds. He and Mary E. Bremser were married April 18, 1986, in Austin, Texas...

John L. Reynolds, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at his home.

He was born May 26, 1938, in Morristown, Tenn., the son of John Cletus and Lelah Virginia Fleener Reynolds. He and Mary E. Bremser were married April 18, 1986, in Austin, Texas.

Reynolds moved to Southeast Missouri from Indiana 18 years ago. The past five years he had lived in Cape Girardeau.

He had an associate degree in theology and was a licensed minister. He attended First Pentecostal Church. He worked as a bricklayer and was a member of Union Bricklayers Local 23 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Reynolds of Cape Girardeau; his mother, Lelah V. Griner of Bloomington, Ind.; three sons, J. Larry Reynolds of Greenfield, Ind., Charles Bigham of North Carolina, Shawn Bigham of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Toni Bush and Amanda Reynolds of Bedford, Ind.; a stepbrother, John Griner of Bloomington; two sisters, Betty Snowberger of Chesterton, Ind., Polly Breeden of Bloomington; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Reynolds; his stepfather, Voris Griner; and granddaughter, Amanda Jean Bigham.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Darrell E. Faire Sr. and William Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
