BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Charles Wayne Rampley, 78, of Bloomfield died as the result of a fire at his home Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009.
He was born Nov. 18, 1930, at Bell City, Mo., son of Charles and Ida Lee Walker Rampley. He married Esther Smith.
Rampley retired as a material cutter at Elder Manufacturing Co. He attended the Church of Christ and was a member of the AMVETS post in Bloomfield.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kirk Anderson of Jackson, Scott Anderson of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Dale and Larry Rampley of Bloomfield; four sisters, Evelyn Hardin of Bloomfield, Norma Deal and Mildred Bartolo of Scott City, Linda Jennings of Bernie, Mo.; several grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Kenneth Gaines officiating. Burial will be in George Cemetery near Bloomfield.
