Virginia Smith

Virginia Ann Smith, 79, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Advance, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Feb. 29, 1929, near Advance, daughter of Comelous and Althea Zimmerman Cox. She and Billy J. Smith were married Sept. 22, 1948, in Piggott, Ark. He died June 1, 2007.

Smith was a beautician and owned and operated Jim's Beauty Shop in Delta many years. She had also been a cook many years at Advance schools.

Survivors include a daughter, Debby Smith of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, with Earl Norman officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
