Kenneth Meskill

ANNA, Ill. — Kenneth L. Meskill, 78, of Anna died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at Union County Hospital.

He was born May 6, 1930, in Phillips, Wis., son of Bert and Lena Zapfe Meskill.

He owned Meskill Construction Co. in the Chicago area 45 years. He retired in 1997 and moved to Southern Illinois.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Meskill of Anna; three sons, Alan Meskill of Kankakee, Ill., Carry Meskill of Austin, Texas, Craig Meskill of Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Lynn Benson of Morris, Ill., Wendy Eastman of Tallahassee, Fla., Cynthia Boyne of Mokena, Ill.; two stepsons, Kurt Schmudde of Orlando, Fla., Eric Schmudde of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Alice Meskill of Phillips; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ill.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with David Eidson officiating.
